Spring clean your life

SPRING CLEAN YOUR LIFE Most people feel a sense of a new start when they see daffodils poking through and the weather gets a little warmer - and wow that was some winter! People often breathe a sigh of relief at the first signs of spring, almost like their life is ready for a boost. If you are ready for the spring time boost then maybe spring cleaning your life is a good starting point. Jenny and Elizabeth both have three young children and run Rainbows End a Business and Life Coaching Company. As such they know that time is always limited and putting yourself first is something that doesn’t happen very often. They encourage people to at least think about themselves even if they are sorting out the washing! Of course sorting out your house always needs to be done but giving it a real spring clean gives a real sense of satisfaction, so imagine how good you’ll feel when you have spring cleaned your life. Take these easy steps and see how you can sparkle and shine! De clutter – most of us have found the kid’s trousers are 3 inches too short and we need a good clear out. Out with the old and in with the new you. If there are things in your life that need to change now is the time. It’s time to focus on what you want to achieve and to work on an action plan of how to get you there. Rearrange the furniture – They say a change is as good as a rest! Consider what is important to you and what would make your life better. It might be family, social life, money who knows? But when you have thought about it write them down and for each area set yourself a goal. Take the kids out on bikes, invite parents for lunch. Not only will you be feeling good about yourself but you’ll have happy kids and cheerful parents! Dusting – take out your feather duster and start to flick away any negative beliefs. Most of us have that naughty inner voice telling us we can’t do this or we are rubbish at that. Whenever these words come into your mind dust them away – they are not useful and don’t help to move your life forward. Arrange a bunch of flowers – Use visualisation of lovely positive things to benefit from a moment of peace, such as opening the windows, letting warm breeze in. Use your senses to heighten the experience such as smelling fresh spring flowers and the sound of birds. This will reduce feelings of stress and rejuvenate you! Clean – Whilst standing precariously on the step ladder reaching to those cupboard tops – consider the balance in your life (you could even sit on the settee with a cuppa, I won’t tell!) To achieve balance you have to start by thinking what do you have too much or too little of in your life. Only then can you start to redress the balance. Taking a bit of time to think about your life and making a few changes, and often it’s the small changes that can make a significant improvement, can lead to feeling more fulfilled and happy - and we all deserve that! Jenny and Elizabeth hope you enjoy using some of these life coaching techniques and that you feel ready to make positive changes.
