Frequently asked questions about Life Coaching

What is Life Coaching?

Life coaching is a powerful one-to-one process that enables you to understand where you are in life, where you want to be, and how you can get there. Life Coaching will enable you to make choices, discover your real potential and take action to fulfil that potential. Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it, so Life Coaching is about you taking control and making the life for yourself that you truly want.

Is Life Coaching like Counselling?

No. Counselling focuses mainly on events and emotions in your past, whereas life coaching focuses on the here and now and what you aspire to in the future. Your Life Coach will want to understand how your past has shaped your present, but the majority of the work will concentrate on formulating strategies and actions to take you where you want to be in the future.

Who needs a Life Coach?

Everyone can benefit from the services of a Life Coach at key points in their lives. Life Coaching can be particularly helpful for you if you are being made redundant, about to lose your job, soon to retire, leaving university, becoming a parent or getting divorced. Equally, it can have huge benefits if you are struggling to cope with family life, dissatisfied with work, have relationship difficulties or if you are quite simply not getting as much out of life as you deserve. Your Life Coach will bring and unbiased and wholly objective perspective to your situation, and will help you to open your eyes to the possibilities that exist for you.

How many sessions will I need?

We recommend a course of six sessions initially. This will allow you to see some amazing results and get the most out of your Life Coaching experience. Sessions can also be booked individually, and programmed to meet your requirements.

How do the coaching sessions work?

Each session takes approximately one hour. We understand that everybody’s lives are different and that the reasons people choose to take on a Life Coach are diverse.  With this in mind we aim to provide life coaching in a number of ways:

Face to face

We are happy to arrange meetings at a venue that you are comfortable with within a twenty mile radius of Durham City.  If you are at ease to meet in cafes or hotels we will gladly buy you a coffee in comfortable surroundings, ensuring that the place is suitable to our needs of privacy. Meeting face to face is preferable to some as it allows us to build a relationship in a natural way and it’s often a pleasant break from the norm.

On line

Modern technology has enabled us to provide life coaching without even leaving home.  Our web site allows discussion through messaging or video conferencing.  We have the technology that ensures confidentiality and tools and exercises that are really effective on line.

This means that the geographic location doesn’t matter.  People from anywhere in the UK can log on and have personal life coaching.  If you have a computer you can access our service.  Many people can benefit from this if getting out of the house is an issue.  We will work around people’s lunch breaks, when the baby is having a nap or if the best time of day is 10pm when they get time to themselves!

Over the phone

We will arrange a convenient time in advance so that you can relax at home and wait for the phone to ring.  The discussions we have over the phone can be enhanced with the use of materials that you will receive in the post, or by e-mail ready for the session.

How much does Life Coaching Cost?

One session with a life coach is £60.00, whether it be over the phone, in person, or on-line.

If you would prefer to make a block booking of six sessions the price will be £300.00 – making a saving of £60.00

Full time students receive a bonus and pay only £50 per session.

NB.  We are very confident in our service, however if you are not entirely satisfied after your first session with us we are happy to refund your payment with no obligation.

How do I book a session?

You can book and pay for your sessions in advance on our website using our on-line diary and paypal. Click here to book now. Alternatively you can contact us to book a session and pay by cheque, bank transfer or standing order.
